Gym Deals In Houston
New Town and no one to spar with.?
Any suggestions on where to go to find a decent place to spar? (not specific, just a general place) I’m aware that many MMA and Boxing gyms allow people that don’t learn their discipline to spar at their gyms, but I don’t really want to deal with “those people” if you get what I mean, I’ve checked around the area and the place is dominated by Taekwondo and Karate like most of America without a significant Asian Population. As the only CMArtist around, there isn’t really any way for me to take another class, and I’m not entirely sure I want to start on a new style where my previous knowledge will be useless….
I used to be in Houston but right now, I”m in Minneapolis if that makes a difference (I am by no means asking for someone to look up schools for me, I’ve got that down, but just suggestions on how to find some way to spar….T_T)
There are several ways you can accomplish this i think, first you could throw out some correspondence to other schools to see if they have anyone who may be willing to spar and has the knowledge or similar knowledge you do. If they don’t, keep posting you may find someone in a similar position. If you’re still stuck alone you’ll need to be creative using forms of intense shadow boxing (even in the mirror), and most likely building props to help form the way you train. Although not ideal, it will provide a somewhat life like experience with height, etc. I’ve seen many guys do this and do drills. It’s not recommended if you can find someone but it will keep your mind going and your blood flowing. Certainly not a good substitute but it will work.
