Bally’s Gym Deals

Bally’s , LA Fitness, Golds Gym? Which of these has the best deals, membership offers?
Hoping to get into a workout facility and will soon shop around. any suggestions, what do you pay? thanks to all , happy holidays.
I belong to 3 different gyms, all for different reasons and for different prices…here goes…Oh, and because the larger chains are franchised, the pricing may vary per area so shopping around is good. Many of them do week free passes and it’s good to give them a trial.
Bally’s: I like their personal training 1 hour, 1 on one with assisted stretching at the end. I was an old member in high school and they offerred me a $99 per year deal which was great. In my area they have converted to a month to month for about $20-30/mo depending on what special you get in on. Many of their group classes now have a cost and the equipment at my facility is a little outdated but in good working order.
Gold’s (converted to Urban Active Fitness in my area about a month ago) $46/mo but I got in when they were just opening. I have a personal trainer here as well but they are half hour session for the same cost as Ballys and they made me contract a trainer for a year so I’m not thrilled about that. However, it’s a nice facility, my trainer is fantastic, every piece of cardio equipment has a tv and they have a cardio cinema that plays new movies. This is good for me because I get bored easy. They also have a wide variety of classes that are included in the cost of my memebership…oh, and a tanning facility…a bonus.
I also belowng to a privat gym, Old School Gym. $25/mo. I go there not for a cosmetically pleasing or comfortable place to go but because I want to do some serious lifting with old steel/iron equipment. They have a lot of old equipment there that is just plain heavy and they have some “off” weights (like 27 pounds instead of 25 or 30 like normal) so if I am trying to build up my weight it helps me. I also train 1x a week with a trainer there but we work until I’m done with no time limit which I love. Private gyms can be a lot cheaper if you don’t want fancy. You also get one on one attention no matter what because they are small. It’s nice to get the “assistance” but sometimes it’s nice to just go to the gym and be an anonymous body. depends on what your looking for in the long run.
